pbo - kanlungan ni maria

It feels nice to be able to add a new PBO experience na maikukwento dito sa blog. Last Saturday, PBO held its first anniversary and the organizers chose to celebrate it in the most meaningful way possible - by helping others. Ang napiling bahagian ng konting tulong ay ang Kanlungan Ni Maria, isang home for the aged sa Antipolo.

When I was told about the anniversary outreach activity weeks prior, ni-clear ko talaga agad ang calendar ko without even asking kung saan yun o kung sino ang sasama at ano ang dapat gawin. Base kasi sa experience ko sa PBO, sigurado na ako na it will be fun. I know our previous activities didn't go as perfectly as we had hoped they would, but we still had the best possible outcome and that's good enough for me.

A few things didn't go as planned, but there were a few nice surprises too. The travel time was not too long. I was overwhelmed by the number of people who showed up: over 50. PBO volunteers, friends and officemates were there to lend a hand. Muntik na kaming hindi magkasya sa venue.

I guess the best surprise of all was how refreshing it was to speak to an elderly person. I was so wrong. I haven't had a good laugh in a while, until I met Nanay Pina.

That's why when he spoke to us, kakaiba ang sinabi nya sa mga ibang napuntahan kong outreach.

I made this video to commemorate this event. I hope my fellow PBO volunteers and readers like it.

Sa mga PBOers and PBO friends, thanks for joining and it was nice to meet so many new people. See you again soon!

At sa mga Lolo at Lola sa Kanlungan ni Maria, Don't give up, because you are loved.

Tma, they are loved!

:) nice ng video...galing ng transition from black and white to colored. ang dramatic. Pwede lagyan ng interpresyon based on lyrics or music. Hehehe. Gud luck sa book signing event! Sayang d ako makakarating, pero bibili pa rin ulit ako ng book like what I promised. :)

This time, seryoso and topic mo Glentot. Touching and very inspiring. I feel proud kasi I also had an opportunity to visit Tahanan ni Maria in Cavite, also a shelter for elderly.
Off topic: Anong program ginamit mo for the video? :) Salamat!!!
